Coolhurst

Coolhurst Vineyards was set up by cousins Charlie and Will, the only two boys from their generation, having taken over the running of the estate from their fathers. They had a vision to produce very special wines in very small quantities for discerning customers.

Charlie gave up a successful career in advertising photography deciding it would be just as satisfying tending a vineyard in the great outdoors as being hunched over a tripod (or, latterly, sat in a retouching suite!) and discovering that the land which had been in his family for generations was capable of producing world-class sparkling wine.

Will served in the British Army with the Royal Green Jackets for eight years. Subsequently he worked with Middle Eastern governments dealing with national elections and border disputes; thus, having returned home to rural England, he was more than prepared for the challenges of running a Sussex vineyard!

The critical acclaim which has greeted the first vintages of Lady Elizabeth have shown that this conviction was well placed.

Lady Elizabeth is the first in a series of very limited production, single varietal wines.

The family are extremely proud of their family lineage and at the heart of the brand is the family Coat of Arms which was granted in 1792 by King George III.

An iconic testament to their heritage, the labels are classically understated from a distance, but layered with depth and indulgence in the hand.
