Firstly, an outstanding still rosé from Chet Valley Vineyard, their Redwing Rosé. Chet & Waveney Rosé Redwing 2018 is made from the Regent grape, this is a bright and crisp rosé with a lovely salmon pink colour. Red fruits delight on the nose followed by a palate of strawberries, cranberries and redcurrant. Serve with white meat, cheese or charcuterie.
Secondly, this case includes a classic deep red, the Somborne Rondo. A grape known for producing gorgeous, ruby-red wines with body. Aromas of of spiced stewed plums on the nose. Ripe Cherry is complemented by savoury notes on the palate. This impressive wine has considerable depth, making it an excellent accompaniment to a meal, or why not try it chilled in the summer as an alternative to rosé.
Thirdly, a pair of excellent value English Whites : the Carr Taylor 1066 and Cannonball. The Carr Taylor 1066 is a light and fragrant wine, medium dry in style with crisp green apple and honeysuckle notes. Delicious by itself whatever the occasion or with delicate fish and grilled chicken, salads and barbecues.
The Carr Taylor Cannonball is a crisp white wine with white peach and honey and has a balanced sweetness. It makes a perfect aperitif and goes equally well with richer pasta dishes, Asian dishes, mild cheeses and light desserts.
Finally, a pair of gorgeous red wines from Essex: The Prettyfield Four-A-Leet is a medium-bodied English red wine. This wine has aromas of blackberry, black cherry and peppery spice. The palate shows ripe blackcurrant and red berry flavours with herbaceous character held together with good tannin structure and a smooth, smoky, velvety finish. This English red wine is perfect with cheeses.
