So what’s in the case?
Firstly, officially the best, and highest ranking rosé in the country – Folc English Rosé 2020. Dry with vibrant aromas of wild raspberry, elderflower and pink grapefruit. The textured palate of English strawberries & cream is balanced by floral notes and a freshness that lasts beyond the final sip.
Secondly, this case includes the trophy-winning Bluebell Ashdown Rosé. Aromas of wild strawberry with a hint of violet, leading to juicy cranberry and delicate rhubarb on the palate resulting in a creamy mouthfeel with a long finish. Vivid and bold in colour, it is both full bodied and bone dry making it excellent as a mouth-watering and refreshing summer wine. Bluebell Vineyard Ashdown Rosé is perfect as an aperitif with salted almonds, smoked duck or cured meats, and summer fruit desserts.
Thirdly, an excellent value English Sparkling Wine: the Wiston Estate Cuvée NV. This is a beautiful wine with crisp apple and baked toast aromas. With a zingy acidity, this is a complex, savoury fizz with fine bubbles. Works beautifully as an aperitif with olives and smoked nuts or fish dishes.
Next, the Bride Valley Dorset Crémant. This wine has a fresh light yellow colour touched with hints of lemon. The continuous pin-prick bubbles show the bottle fermented effervescence. The Bride Valley Dorset Crémant has a much less aggressive fizz. It is fantastically creamy, backed by hints of white flowers and white summer fruits.
Stopham Estate Pinot Gris: An off-dry wine with aromatic peach and pear fruit alongside the floral character on the nose. On the palate, this has excellent balance with crisp acidity. It is fairly full in body, with plenty of juicy fruit intensity, but is refreshing and long, with a lively citrus and stone fruit finish.
Finally, a 100% rosé from Tuffon Hall – Beatrice. The nose offers delightful fruit blossom, pear drop and strawberries. The palate has hints of redcurrant, strawberries and raspberries with an appley note on the finish. Pairs well with Asian salads, shellfish and light tomato and herbal dishes.
