Description

The Tickerage Blanc de Blancs is medium gold with an intense and prolonged fine bead and mousse.  Clean nose with hints of honey and caramelised apple.

The extended lees ageing means the honey theme continues on the palate, balanced nicely with crisp acidity and hints of melon, cucumber, thyme and orange blossom. A long, vinous finish.

9 years on the lees has given this wine a wonderful complexity, a lovely example of an English, 100% Chardonnay, sparkler.

Tickerage vineyard is a small, family-owned and run vineyard in the heart of East Sussex. They hand craft wines that reflect and celebrate the natural environment that created them. With just 5 acres of north facing slopes on the edge of the Sussex Weald, they like to do things a little bit differently.

There’s no grand plan, no exit strategy, the owners are in it for the long-term and for the love of it. There are simply 5 acres of vines that demand attention each day, come rain or shine and the resulting grapes express the variations of the weather each year. It’s the challenge of the unknown, the unpredictable, that makes the vineyard such an exciting endeavour.

About the vineyard

Tickerage

They say good things come in small packages. At Tickerage they live and breathe this motto by creating handcrafted sparkling English wines of distinction from their boutique 5-acre family-owned and run vineyard. Situated on top of a sandstone ridge, their English vineyard has the free-draining soils vines love so much.

They use estate-grown grapes from our Sussex based vineyard. These are harvested by hand at the optimal time for both acidity and ripeness every Autumn. The wines spend at least 5 years ageing to create the most complex flavours. Tickerage wines are released in small batch runs to ensure that every bottle is an exquisite experience.

As a husband and wife team of grower-producers, they lovingly tend to the vines and carefully cultivate the classic Champagne varieties – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
