Syke’s English White is gently aromatic and fresh, with aromas of white flowers, apricot and dried herbs.
Citrus, ripe apple and stone fruits on the palate, this is a well-structured wine, with a crisp, clean finish.
Enjoy with scallops and pan-fried fish, but also roast chicken and risotto dishes
About the vineyard
Hush Heath Estate
In the late 1990s Richard Balfour-Lynn discovered that the 400-acre estate surrounding his family home in Staplehurst, Kent was for sale at auction.
He attended out of curiosity and ended up placing the winning bid on the derelict land.
Never one to shy from a challenge, Richard made it his ambition to take on the French at producing world class Champagne style sparkling wines using traditional methods and grape varieties.
Today winemakers Owen Elias and Victoria Ash are working alongside the Turner family to get the best out of every vintage.
Owen and Victoria have different winemaking backgrounds and ideas, and together bring a wonderful balance of tradition and innovation to winemaking at Hush Heath Estate.
At Hush Heath Estate, they only use fruit grown within Hush Heath Estate, so they understand the history of each and every bottle.
They feel that the best flavours and characters come from the three classic sparkling wine grape varieties; Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
At Hush Heath they have 40 acres of land planted with this classic trio.
Viticulturists at Hush Heath have been working the land for three generations and have an innate understanding of the soil as well as each and every row of vines.
They take a hands on approach in the vineyards, inspecting them daily, and being careful that each decision for the current vintage supports the best possible outcome for the following year.
