Shotley Vineyard single estate Bacchus 2020 is the second vintage to come from the vineyard. The wine is floral with notes of elderflower on the nose. It’s crisp on the palate with hints of gooseberry and lime. Shotley Vineyard Bacchus 2020 pairs beautifully with mild dishes, for example chicken or seafood.
Bacchus is increasingly grown in England. This is because our cool climate means the grapes retain a higher acidity. Sometimes referred to as the ‘Sauvignon Blanc of the UK’ due to their characteristic similarities.
Shotley Vineyard has over three thousand Bacchus vines which were planted in 1997, 1998 and 2003.
