Did you know that not all wines are vegan?
In fact, some winemakers use animal-derived proteins in a process called fining – these products are all natural and in no way harmful.
They are not additives as they are removed from the wine before it is finished, but any wines made in this way cannot call themselves vegan.
The great news, however, is that many winemakers use vegan-friendly charcoal- or clay-based fining agents, meaning that you can enjoy them throughout Veganuary – below are six favourites:
