Description
Giffords Hall LVII-XIX has a surprisingly full body for an English Pinot Noir. Fermented in barrel and left on the lees, it has a beautiful depth and structure.
Giffords Hall LVII-XIX has a spicy bouquet with the cherry, earthy overtones you would expect from a pinot.
Also known as the Giffords Hall Love and Kisses, this wine was only produced for this vintage and was made in very small quantities.

About the vineyard
Giffords Hall
Giffords Hall is a family owned vineyard planted on the site of an ancient glacial riverbed near Long Melford in Suffolk.
The sandy/clay soil produces quality grapes, high in natural sugars and acids, that lend themselves particularly well to both sparkling and dry, aromatic still wines.
The vineyard was planted around 25 years ago and the vines are now in their prime.
Madeleine Angevine, Bacchus, Reichensteiner, Rondo, Pinot Noir, (both Burgundian and Precoce), and of course the Pinot Blanc, all do well on this site.
The family concentrated on producing top quality fruit and became contract growers in order to learn as much as they could.
The ultimate aim, though, was to produce very high quality boutique wines themselves and in 2009, they put their first label onto a bottle.
The Howards bought Giffords at just the time when real investment and marketing expertise were starting to enter the English wine industry attracting corresponding media attention.
Giffords Hall wines have received many awards and trophies over the years including the Waitrose trophy for most outstanding rose and National English Wine Trophy for our Bacchus.
