Produced solely from the Gamay grape, an off-dry sparkling rosé with blushing damask rose tones which come to life thanks to the inexhaustible stream of bubbles. The palate conjures up sweet summer fruit, think strawberry, raspberry & pear, with a half-squeeze of lemon.
White Wines Becky has included two amazing white wines in this case - the Bride Valley Dorset Chardonnay and the Winbirri Bacchus. The Bride Valley Dorset Chardonnay is similar in taste to a delicious French Chablis. It has a very floral nose coupled with green apple, lime zest, pink grapefruit and kiwi skin. On the palate it is surprisingly broad, with summer fruits, lots of natural acidity lifting the length and the finish. The Winbirri Bacchus is from an award winning vineyard and some say it is one of the best wines in the country! This vintage of Bacchus has an elegant nose of grapefruits, passion fruits and floral characters. On the palate it has tropical fruits backed with a clean crisp finish. Red Wine A favourite for most people - the Trevibban Black Ram is a young and vibrant, ruby red English wine that Becky loves! This wine has spent 11 months in the finest french oak barrels from Burgundy. This is a medium bodied red that gives dark chocolate, baked plums, black cherry and black pepper on the nose. This follows with a juicy blackcurrant palate with a hint of smoke - amazing! Sparkling Wines Becky is a chardonnay lover and so this case wouldn't be right without a blanc de blancs! The Woodchurch Blanc de Blancs is an impressive award winner boasting a gold medal at the prestigious Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships 2019, silver medal at the 2019 Decanter world wine awards and silver medal at the 2018 International Wine and Spirit Competition! This wine has aromas of delicious pears and almonds. On the palate is refreshing apple and butter flavours and a beautifully long citrus lime finish. This case also wouldn't be complete without the English sparkling wine that Becky first discovered and loved - The Nyetimber Classic Cuvee! This well regarded wine has distinctive toasty and spicy aromas. A palate of honey, almond, pastry and baked apples gives it a hint of decadence. Intense yet delicate, elegant yet complex – it’s no wonder it’s consistently crowned one of the best English sparkling wines! Rosé Wine Becky loves a dry, pale and crisp rosé so this Albury Organic Silent Pool Rosé ticks all the boxes. Perfect if you love a Provence style rosé, this wine has subtle red berry and bright citrus aromas on the nose are followed by fresh summer flavours of strawberries and cream, peach and pink grapefruit on the palate. The wine is balanced by clean minerality and crisp acidity, with a long mouth-watering finish. Enjoy!
Sparkling Wines Sara has included two of her all-time favourite and most-memorable sparklers in her case - The Ridgeview Blanc de Noirs and the Trevibban Blanc de Blancs. The Ridgeview Blanc de Noirs is a multi-award-winning wine sparkling white wine produced from solely black grapes, hence 'Blanc de Noirs' - White from Black. With stunning aromas of cherry, sweet spice and fresh herbs and a rich, complex, toasted palate, this wine was immediately branded Sara's 'New Favourite' English sparkling wine when she first tasted it back in 2017 and it continues to improve with age! The Trevibban Blanc de Blancs - White from White - is produced solely from Chardonnay grapes and is a very different sparkler, equally enjoyable. This wine won 'Wine of the Year' and 'Best Sparkling Wine' at the Wine GB West Awards 2019. It has a wonderfully fresh, citrus character with rich brioche and honey notes. Rosé Wine Giffords Hall rosé is a local favourite for Sara that also comes in a magnum! This is a Provence-style rosé made from Madeleine Angevine and Rondo grapes which give it a lovely English rose and wild strawberry nose which spills over into the palate which is balanced by a touch of refreshing grapefruit. An absolute crowd-pleaser, this rosé is for any time of day, any time of year and should be a staple in your cellar. White Wines The Ashdown Ortega was the first English Ortega Sara tasted. Having fallen in love with Bacchus as England's star still variety, Sara was delighted to find that Ortega was a different style of single varietal white still wine that has a richness and complexity that keeps you interested from first sip to last drop. This wine has bold aromas of verbena, apricot and hazelnut which lead to flavours of ripe peach, Mirabelle plum and baked apples on the palate. As a picky Chardonnay drinker, Sara is always delighted when she finds a Chardonnay that feels like it was made just for her - The Woodchurch Chardonnay is one of those wines. A truly special wine with wonderful fresh citrus flavours and sealed with beautiful yellow wax, making every bottle individual. With inviting aromas of elderflower and melon and wonderful fresh citrus flavours on the palate alongside peach and honey, this wine has a smooth rich finish with long lasting flavours of hazelnuts and caramel. A must try. Especially if you don’t usually love Chardonnay. Red Wine The Winbirri Signature. English reds tend to have a reputation for being lighter-bodied and often quite earthy, so Sara was delighted to find an English red that bucks the trend! Winbirri Vineyard are famed for their Platinum award winning Bacchus, but more people should know about their gorgeous, smooth, mouth-watering Signature red. Bursting with rich plum and dark-berry fruits with spicy notes of coffee and blackberries. Plum and vanilla come through beautifully on the palate, and your medium-bodied English red wine dreams have come true. This case is a little summary of Sara's English wine adventures to date which she knows you will love exploring just as much as she has.
