Description
The London Cru Pinot Noir Prรฉcoce is from one of the earliest berries to ripen in the countryside. A target of pheasants, and perfectly adapted to our English climate. This Prรฉcoce was grown in West Marden by Noel and Daniela and in 2020 the fruit quality was extraordinary – naturally producing a wine of 13.2% alcohol with great balance and concentration.
Fermented in concrete tanks, 90% of the fruit was destemmed and not crushed, and 10% was included as whole bunch. The wine was gently pumped over each morning and night and had one delestage about halfway through fermentation.
After fermentation, the wine was then aged in neutral French oak barrels for 7 months where it went through full malolactic fermentation. A labour of love, this wine was then hand bottled, hand labelled, and hand waxed in the Fulham winery.
This wine has bright ripe cherry and fresh raspberries aromas, with hints of rose petals and a smokey charcuterie finish from barrel ageing. The palate is full of red berries and with great balance, tannins are soft and very approachable due to the delicate extraction.
