Description

Silex blanc is a wine designed to show depth and complexity. Think white Burgundy, but English! A perfect combination of grape varieties and winemaking techniques complete its design. Fermentation in barrel, stainless steel tanks and amphora plus skin-contact techniques. 39% Chardonnay, 28% Pinot Blanc, 17% Pinot Gris, 16% Pinot Noir Flint vineyard is located in South Norfolk, one of the driest places in England. Head Winemaker and founder Ben Witchell, has a degree in Oenology and Viticulture. His scientific yet open minded approach has led to a range of innovative and outstanding wines.

Founded in 2016, Flint was shaped by Head Winemaker Ben Witchell’s drive to understand and create exceptional wine. With a background in oenology and viticulture, and experience gained in Beaujolais, his approach blends technical precision with a more creative, hands-on style.

Recognising the potential of Norfolk’s dry climate, Flint was established on land ideally suited to producing expressive, high-quality fruit. From the outset, the focus has been on crafting characterful still wines, with early plantings of Bacchus and Pinot Noir later joined by Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris.

What began as a small venture has grown into a collaborative effort, with a dedicated team working towards a shared goal: producing modern English wines defined by clarity, balance and individuality.
