The lovely Archie @wineawaytheday asked us to curate a case of rose because she is running social media campaign for Great British Rose Week. Great British Rose has that wonderful balance of gluggability and outstanding quality. We jumped at the chance to get involved.
For a wine that is the epitome of summer in a glass, it has to be Great British rose. Just add sunshine and blue skies and you have the recipe for a perfect British summers afternoon. Here are some of our favourites for Great British Rose Week…
Our top picks for Great British Rose Week
LYME BAY: Pinot Noir Rose
Ideal conditions after a summer 2018 heatwave produced a near perfect growing season for the Pinot Noir grapes. A prolonged spell of hot weather followed by very little rain enabled grapes to fully ripen on the vine, which showed in both excellent quality & high yields. The nose gives complex and intense aromas of cherries rosehip, strawberries and cream. The palate offers good length and mouth-feel, with a refreshing acidity and is driven by redcurrant, cranberry, rhubarb and strawberry flavours.
Lyme Bay Pinot Noir Rosé
Decanter World Wine Awards 2019 – SILVER
International Wine Challenge 2019 – BRONZE
White Castle Rosé 2019
**Winner of a bronze medal at the Wine GB 2020 awards**
A beautifully crisp, dry and refreshing wine from Wales
WHITE CASTLE: Rose
This is a lovely pale blush wine from Wales. The wine feels the mouth with crisp summer fruits and ends with a mouth watering finish. A fantastic wine to be enjoyed on its own, or with salads and fish.
An expressive wine, packed with aromas of rosehip, red cherries and fresh raspberries. Rose gold in colour, it has flavours of delicate strawberry and summer berries. This rose would be perfectly suited to pair with fresh goats cheese salads and summer picnics.
Meophams Rose 2017
Madeleine Angevine, Reichensteiner and Triomphe d’Alsace are lightly pressed and then blended, to produce this refreshingly crisp, yet fruit driven rose.

Don’t be fooled by the dark colour of this wine! This is fresh and fruity. Perfect for a summers day!
Coral pink in colour, this elegantly fresh rosé is summer in a bottle with fragrances of gardenia, raspberry and lychee. The palate is full of cranberry, raspberry, gooseberry and apple. The finish is crisp and clean. Perfect for drinking alone or with a summer BBQ.

With lifted notes of freshly cut strawberries and redcurrant on the nose.
The palate is generous and fruit forward, combining great texture with a crisp, focused finish. A perfect match for fresh, citrusy fish dishes.

An award winning and delicious Provence style rose.
White peach and roses, crisp acidity, delicate but concentrated with white fruit and floral accent.
