Nutbourne Bacchus is an outstanding dry white wine that is crisp, fresh and enticing, made from 100% Bacchus grapes. A distinctive elderflower bouquet is followed by delicate gooseberries and a botanical aromatic finish. Think English Sancerre, this is a great quality Bacchus with a long lasting finish. Meanwhile, just like the best Sancerre, shows restraint and elegance on the nose and pallet.

Bacchus is the signature varietal for English still white wine - a modern crossbred grape variety developed to produce an attractive, fruity single varietal wines. “What grows together goes together” - this is a perfect pairing for English asparagus, heritage tomatoes, Sussex lamb and stone-fruit desserts.

Nutbourne Wine

Nutbourne is a family-run vineyard located in West Sussex, producing a range of English still and sparkling wines from estate-grown grapes. First planted in 1979 and managed by the Gladwin family since 1991, the vineyard has developed into a well-established boutique producer within the South East.

Set on gentle south-facing slopes and sheltered by the South Downs, the vineyard benefits from a warm microclimate and green sand soils similar to those found in parts of the Champagne region. These conditions support a range of grape varieties, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Bacchus.

All aspects of production take place on site, from vineyard management through to winemaking and bottling. A combination of traditional methods and careful vineyard practices allows Nutbourne to produce balanced, expressive wines that reflect both the estate and its Sussex setting.
